JOSEPH EUGENE WEAVER JR. of Westerville, Ohio, formerly of South Charleston passed away on Sunday, Oct. 26, 2008. He was born Jan. 8, 1923.
He retired as captain from the South Charleston Fire Department and as inspector from the West Virginia Fire Marshall's office. He was a veteran of World War II, serving in the United States Army Air Corps, and was a past president of the South Charleston Kiwanis Club.
Surviving: wife of 63 years, Ella Louise, of Westerville; son and daughter-in-law, Gene and Susan; granddaughters, Nancy Weaver and husband, Mark Miller, of St. Louis, Mo., and Laura Coates and husband, Charlie, of Gahanna, Ohio; great-grandchildren Eliza, Jackson and Chase of St. Louis, Mo., and Dakota and A.J. of Gahanna, Ohio; brothers, Robert L. and wife, Phyllis, of Alum Creek and Sonny and wife, Nelia, of Lake City, Florida; sisters Arminta and husband, Richard Lutz, of Spring Hill and Jeweldine and husband, Norman Davis, of Indiana.
