George R. Albanese, 66, of S. Meriden Road, Cheshire, died Tuesday morning, (March 6, 2001) at Connecticut Hospice, Inc. in Branford. He was the husband of Shirley (Chandler) Albanese. Mr. Albanese was born in Brooklyn, NY, December 11, 1934, son of Marjorie (Knapple) Albanese of Simsbury and the late Dominick V. Albanese. He graduated from Leavenwoth High School and has resided in Cheshire since 1965. Mr. Albanese was a retired tool and die maker, having worked at the Cheshire Ball and Socket for 40 years and retired from the Waterbury Button in 1995. Mr. Albanese was a member of the Harmony Lodge #42, A.F. & A.M. and was a scoutmaster of Troop #92 of Cheshire. He was a member of the first Congregational Church of Cheshire and a U.S. Navy Peacetime Veteran.
