Mary Jane Artz, age 83 died Sunday, June 21, 2015 at Research Medical Center in Kansas City. Mary Jane was born at Detroit, Michigan on August 19, 1931 to Clifford and Mary (Frye) Murphy. She married Robert W. Artz on May 24, 1953 and he preceded her in death in 2000. Mary Jane had worked as a teacher at Marceline R-V School. She was a member of the Marceline First Christian Church, Retired Teachers, Red Hats, CWF, Library Board, and a Marceline resident since 1967 coming from Mercer, MO. She is survived by two sons, J. Steven Artz and Nancy, Indianapolis, IN and Walter R. Artz and Jennifer, Cleveland, MO, daughter Cynthia A. and Brian Buck, Fort Wayne, IN, brother Danny Murphy, Trenton, sister Patricia Smith, Chillicothe, eight grandchildren, and four great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, son Michael in 2000, and daughter Catherine in 2002. A memorial service will be held at 2 PM Saturday, July 11, 2015 at the Marceline First Christian Church with visitation from Noon until service time. Memorials may be made to Marceline Carnegie Library and these may be left at or mailed to Delaney Funeral Home 1720 N. Missouri Ave., Marceline, MO 64658.
