Horace M. McCabe, Jr., age 82, passed away at his home in Houston, DE surrounded by his loving family.

He was born in Roxana, DE on Dec. 8, 1932 to the late Horace M., Sr. and Martha Wharton McCabe.

He was a happy, jolly man who loved to share stories, and was accomplished in many ways. He loved and cared for antique cars, liked camping and was a fan of gospel music. He enjoyed going to hymn sings.

He had served in the US Army, and spent a career at DuPont Company in Seaford, retiring as a mechanic after 27 years of service. He was devoted to his wife and family, and enjoyed spending time in Florida with his wife.

He is survived by his wife, Artinzia Evans McCabe, and six children: Gilbert McCabe, and his wife Barbara, of Carol Valley, PA; Loretta Koski, and her companion Reese Payn, of North Carolina; Bernice Hall, of Houston, DE; Ruth Hill, and husband Marvin, of Kenton, OH; Karen Claudy, and husband Erick, of Odessa, DE; and Sheila West, and husband Jerry, of Ft. Meyers, Florida. He is also survived by two sisters: Marion Phillips and Helen Maddox, and a brother-in-law: Rancel Evans, and his wife Joy, of Frankford.

A funeral service and Celebration of His Life will be held on Tuesday, July 7, 2015 at 2:00 PM at the Watson Funeral Home, 211 S. Washington St. in Millsboro, where friends may call two hours prior, from Noon till 2 PM for viewing and visitation. Interment follows at the Roxana Cemetery.
