JOHN CHRISTIAN ABBUEHL, 57 TAMPA, FL - John Christian Abbuehl, 57, died Monday, February 10, 2014, at his home in Tampa, Florida.

He was born, May 14, 1956, in Freeport, IL, to Ernest and Irene Andersen Abbuehl. On November 29, 1980, he and Holly Meinert were married in Monroe, WI.

John learned the art of making cheese from his father who operated a cheese factory in Orangeville, IL and later Monroe, Wisconsin. In 1979, John received his Bachelor of Business Administration degree from the University of Wisconsin-Madison. In the 1980's, he purchased the Spartan Bowling Center in McFarland, WI. He enjoyed the business and the many lifelong friendships made in the McFarland community. His pastimes included reading, recording music and live concerts, fishing, bowling, and watching their daughter grow, learn and enjoy school activities. John was a avid Packer and Badger fan.

Surviving are his wife and daughter, Ally Abbuehl; three sisters, Jeanne (Gaylon) Obert, Dakota, IL, Kay (Marvin) Rufi, Monroe, Connie (Tom) Folgate, Freeport, IL; one brother, Glenn (Carolyn) Abbuehl, Tucson, AZ; brother-in-law, Scott Meinert of Dakota, IL; and many nieces, nephews, and great- nieces and nephews.

Preceding John in death are his parents, Ernest and Irene Abbuehl; sister, Nancy Babler; brother-in-law, Paul Riemer; nephew, Jeff Folgate; his parent-in-laws, Lavere and Virginia Meinert.

Memorial services will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday, March 8, at Afolkey Grace EC Church in Afolkey, with visitation beginning at 10 a.m.
