OSTEEN, RILEY R., SR., of Chiefland died Saturday at Shands at the University of Florida. He was 68. A heavy equipment operator, Mr. Osteen was born in Levy County. He moved from Newberry to Chiefland 16 years ago. In addition to having served in the U.S. Army, Mr. Osteen was a member of Ira Carter Masonic Lodge No. 150 in Newberry. He was a Baptist. He was preceded in death by his wife, Amelia M. Osteen. Survivors include three sons, William D. Osteen and Riley R. Osteen Jr., both of Chiefland, and Franklin Osteen of Otter Creek; a daughter, Shirley Osteen Moore of Chiefland; a brother, George L.
