Pauline Long Almond, 78, of Robbinsville, NC, went home to be with the Lord early Friday, June 26, 2015, at Harris Regional Hospital in Sylva, NC. She was born in Gaston County, NC, and was the daughter of the late Paul and Mary Jane Bohnam Long. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, J.C. Almond; her daughter, Ioline Almond Pryor; her sisters, Mary Farris and Betty Binge; and her brothers, R.C. Hall and Jack Messer. She is survived by her son, James Almond, Jr., of Robbinsville, NC, and her daughters and sons in law, Ruby and Lester Carringer of Robbinsville, NC, and Angie and Bobby McGirt of Dallas, NC. She has 6 grandchildren and 11 great-grandchildren. Funeral services will be held at 3:00 pm Sunday, June 28, 2015 at the Townson-Smith Chapel. The Reverends Bo Thomas and Onley Williams will officiate. Burial will follow at Farley Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 1:00 to 3:00 pm Sunday, at the Chapel, prior to the service. Townson-Smith Funeral Home is in charge of the arrangements.
