Irene Carty, 100, of Parkridge Nursing and Rehabiliation Center in Pleasant Hill died of congestive heart failure there Monday.
Mrs. Carty was born in Leonore, Illinois and had lived in Dallas Center most of her life before moving to Granger 21 years ago. She had lived in Pleasant Hill for 13 years. She was a homemaker, and a member of Independent Order of Odd Fellows and First Presbyterian Church in Dallas Center. She enjoyed crocheting, gardening and flowers.
She is survived by a daughter, Ruby Sudbrock of Altoona; a sister, Dorothy Hawbaker of Perry; a brother, Bob Jones of Mesa, Arizona; three grandchildren; three great-grandchildren; and three great-great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband, Hobert.
