Nora was the daughter of Dennison and Salome Weaver. She was the widow of Charles M. Gates. They had three sons: Arthur Gates, Leland Dennison Gates and Dellazon Gates; and a daughter Grace Gates. The obituary of Nora Gates was published in the Cortland Standard, Cortland, N.Y., on Tuesday Evening, April 12, 1949.

According to the Homer Republican, Homer, N.Y., Thurs., March 5, 1914, p.5, DEATHS: Nora’s mother, Mrs. Salome Weaver died on Mar. 2, 1914 in Cortland, N.Y., at the home of Mrs. Weaver’s other daughter, Mrs. Dellazon Coon, 100 Port Watson St., aged 72 years and 11 months. Her place of burial was not mentioned; but her husband was interred at North Pitcher Cemetery in North Pitcher, Chenango County, New York.
