She was a member of St. James M.E. Church and had been an ardent church worker with Mr. Shouse during his pastorates of Lincoln, Grace, Central Park, and Vermilion Heights M.E. Churches. Mr. & Mrs. Shouse came to Danville in 1904 from Tower Hill, IL.
