Fred Winford 'Chub' Adcock, age 69 of Sparta, Tennessee left this walk of life on Tuesday, June 23, 2015 surrounded by his loved ones.
Fred was born in Sparta on October 25, 1945 to Burger and Mary (Johnson) Adcock.
Fred met his beloved wife Melba Cope Adcock and was joined in marriage March 25, 1963 in Ringold, Georgia.
Fred was a farmer and a mechanic by trade.
He and Melba had three wonderful children that helped expand their family to add six grandchildren and nine great-grandchildren.
Mr. Adcock was preceded in death by his parents; four brothers Thurman, Earl, Wallace and Harold Adcock;
four sisters Lannie Mae Winnett,
Zona “Bill” Austin, Ruth St. John and
Linda Bryant.
Survivors include his beloved wife Melba,
one sister –
Tiney McBride of St Clair Shores, Michigan
two sisters in law –
Noni Adcock, St. Clair Shores, Michigan,
Mildred Adcock, Harrisburg, Illinois.
three children – Paula (Mike) Whitson,
Sandra (Rick) Howell,
Freddie Adcock and his girlfriend
Heather Herbert.
six grandchildren – Sharon and Joey Herren, Shannon and Anthony Moss,
Jessica and Andy McCulley,
Shane and Kristie Howell,
Sarah and Rance Martin, Tasha Adcock and Sam Mitchell.
9 great-grandchildren, Kylie, Abby, Kadie Jo, Anna, Bentley, Reagan, Ava, Kendal and Ali.
Services for Mr. Adcock will be held Friday, June 26, 2015 at The Lighthouse Church on Old Kentucky Road with Thomas McCulley and Alton Marcum officiating. Burial will follow in Old Zion Cemetery.
Oak Lawn Funeral Home in charge of arrangements.
