LeRoy John Hilmanowske, 81 of Baldwin, passed away Saturday, July 6, at Baldwin Area Medical Center. LeRoy was born Oct. 18, 1920 the son of John A. and Josie (Karnes) Hilmanowske in Menomonie.
He attended Menomonie schools.
On Dec. 3, 1947 he married Pearl Irene Fouks at her parent's home in Deer Park. This union was blessed with four children; Diane, Delores, Richard and Ruth. LeRoy farmed north of Baldwin for many years.

Following his marriage, he worked as a mechanic at Zillmann Motors for three years, St. Croix Co-op for 12 years, and Baldwin Oil for Floyd Green for 12 years.

His greatest enjoyments were his family, fishing, camping, wintering in Apache Junction, Ariz., and working on small engines. He and Carl built their own trailer camper. He was a longtime member of Immanuel Lutheran Church.

Survivors are his wife Pearl of Baldwin; children, Diane (Leonard) Triebold of Roberts, Delores (Allen) Hansen of Baldwin, Richard (Ann) Hilmanowske of Baldwin, and Ruth (Nolan) Anderson of Baldwin; eight grandchildren; five great-granchildren; brother Gene (Donna) Hilmanowske of River Falls; and sisters, Betty (Kenneth) Anderson of Bayport, Minn. and JoAnne (Clyde) Jacobson of Hammond. He was preceded in death by his parents and brother Ralph.

Funeral services were at 11 a.m. Tuesday, July 9 at Immanuel Lutheran Church in Woodville with Pastor Wayne Hilgendorf officiating; organist was Jeanne Steffen.

Burial was in the church cemetery. Scott Hilmanowske, Bradley Triebold, Kurt Anderson, Hally Waltz, Amy Gunsallus, Nickolas Hansen, Matthew Anderson and Tracy Anderson served as casketbearers.

Services were entrusted to O'Connell Family Funeral Home in Baldwin.
