Services for Mary Oma Cox, 80, will be 2 p.m. Monday at Griffin Funeral Home Chapel with Tony Melton officiating and Paul Melton as eulogist. Interment will follow at Loco Cemetery,
Born Feb. 24, 1926, at Loco to John and Veda Shelby Bradshaw, she died June 30, 2006, at Ardmore. She married Billy Joe Cox in September 1945 at Duncan. He preceded her in death. She was also preceded in death by her parents, two brothers, J.B. Bradshaw and Harold Bradshaw, one sister, Ruth Perry, and one grandson, Kenneth Todd Stewart.
She attended school at Loco and graduated from Loco High School in 1945. She was a homemaker and enjoyed sewing and making clothes for her children. She loved people and also took pleasure in traveling the United States. She was an active member of Loco Baptist Church. Prior to moving to Ardmore she had lived at Lone Grove for 14 years.
She is survived by two sons, Jimmy Donald "Don" Cox and his wife, Wilma, Lone Grove, and Gary Joe Cox, Loco; two daughters, Kay Stewart and her husband, Larry, Comanche, and Norma Melton and her husband, Tony, Cincinnati, Ohio; one sister, Exa Mae Hamilton, Lawton; and 13 grandchildren.
Bearers are grandsons, Chad, Wayne, Shane and Matthew Cox, and Joshua and James Melton.
Visitation in noon to 8 p.m. today and 8 a.m. to service time Monday.
