Mae Sullivan Braswell, age 94, of Chattanooga, went home to be with the Lord on Tuesday, June 16, 2015.
She was born in Pikeville, Tennessee to the late Lewis and Carrie Belle Agee. Mae retired from DuPont Corporation. She was a long time member of Brainerd Church of Christ and currently a member of Tyner Church of Christ. Mae was an avid seamstress and loved to cook.
She was preceded in death by her husbands, Howard A. Sullivan, Sr., Roy Braswell and O. T. Rinehart. She was also preceded in death by her four sisters.
Mae is survived by her children, Barbara (Layfield) Rous, Wanda (Ted) Lamb and Howard A. (Linda) Sullivan; grandchildren, Dee Dee Pera, Jeff Rous, Ron Lingerfelt, Trey Sullivan, III, Glen Sullivan and Holly Ramage; many great grandchildren and one great great granddaughter; brother, Harold (Betty) Agee; Mae is also survived by Peter Gibson and many special nieces and nephews.
The family will receive friends from 5 to 7 pm on Friday, June 19, and 9:30 am to 10 am on Saturday at the North Chapel of Chattanooga Funeral Home. A celebration of her life will follow at 10 am on Saturday at the funeral home chapel with Ministers John and George Cupp officiating. Burial will follow in Hamilton Memorial Gardens.
The family would like to thank the staff at Elmcroft of Shallowford, Cindy Wingo and Sara Miller for their care and love given to Mae.
The family has also asked that memorial contributions be made in Mae's name to Tyner Church of Christ, 6620 Bonny Oaks Drive, Chattanooga, TN 37421.
Arrangements are by the North Chapel of Chattanooga Funeral Home, Crematory and Florist, 5401 Highway 153, Hixson.
