Pete Johnson of Madison passed away Friday, June 5, 2015.

Pete was born on July 13, 1957 in Madison, the fifth son of Reed M. Johnson and Julia A. (Judy) Johnson. Pete attended school in Madison and worked as a coal miner before his retirement. He resided with his mother at home and was a member of Madison Baptist Church.

Pete was preceded in death by his father; his brothers, Richard Joseph Johnson, James Reed Johnson; and niece Amy Lee Johnson.

He is survived by one son, Robert Preston Johnson of Danville; his mother, Judy Johnson of Madison; and brothers, Drew P. Johnson of Lawrenceville, GA, Wayne A. Johnson of Julian, and Ross E. Johnson of Charleston. He is also survived by six nephews and a niece.

A graveside service will be held at 11 a.m. Monday, June 8th at Boone Memorial Park, Madison with Pete’s cousin, Rev. William Smith and the Rev. Jim Butcher officiating.

Arrangements are in the care of Handley Funeral Home, Danville.
