Ada graduated from the School of the Art Institute in Chicago in 1880. She helped organize the Glen Ellyn Library. Her last years were spent researching Indians of Illinois.
----------
I recently found a book Ada wrote called "The Story of An Old Town-Glen Ellyn" published in 1928 by the Glen New's Printing Co. and by the Anan Harmon Chapter of the DAR. It was called a memorial edition in which 2000 copies were printed. On the official website it states "Anan Harmon Chapter was formally organized January 23, 1924, with Christine Johnson Whitlock as organizing regent. Founding member and prominent Glen Ellyn philanthropist and historian, Ada Douglas Harmon, was descended from Revolutionary War patriot Anan Harmon whose name was chosen for the chapter."
