Dr. AIm was born Nov. 24, 1907 In Chicago, Ill. He was educated in Galesburg, and received his medical education at Michigan State and Wayne State. He Interned at Detroit Receiving. During World War II, Dr. AIm was a member of the Army AIr Corps and was a flight surgeon, serving In various capacities, including medical inspector of North Africa With the AIr Transport Command, also servtng as assistant surgeon and commandlng officer of AIr Force Hospital at Bangor, MaIne where he was an officer of the Air Force Hospital at Selfridge AIr Force Base: wlng commander, l05th Medical. Wing; First Bomber Command, Langley Field, Va. Dr. Aim retired as a Colonel in
1946 and came to Petoskey where he took over the practice of the Dr. Wesley Mast who was moving to Tecumseh, Indiana.

In various tours with the AIr Force Reserve, he served at Bethesda Naval Hospital in Washington, D.C., and Kincbeloe AFB. While residing In Detroit he was a member of the Fisher Body Medlcal Group and was a medlcal director for a major insurance company. In Petoskey, Dr. Alm maintained a private practice on Petoskey Street near the corner of Michigan. He was also the city’s health officer for many years, resigning in 1972. He was also on the staff at Lockwood General Hospital and at one time served as Lockwood’s Chief of Staff.

Among the many associations with which the doctor was affiliated, was the Michigan Medical Society, where at one time he served as president of the organlzatlon. He was also a member of the of Veterans of Foreign Wars, the Durand· Lodge No. 344, and BPOE In Petoskey. Dr. Aim served on the board of the Heart­ Associatlon in Florida, and was a member of the Retired Officers Association.

Dr. Alm died at the Veterans Hospital in Battle Creek after a long illness. He was survived by his wife, the former Marie Blanchard; two daughters; and one son.
