The death of Mrs. Kreszens Henkel, widow of George Henkel of this city, occurred Sunday afternoon at the family residence, 271 Mount Vernon street. The end was caused by apoplexy, following an illness of several weeks.
Mrs. Henkel was born In Bavaria, Germany, Octoher 12, 1837. She was one of this city's early settlers, coming to Oshkosh : with her parents, Mr. and Mrs. Paul Kuebler, in 1854 and residing here ever since. Sha was married to George Henkel, an early-day shoe dealer, in 1857.
Surviving are Mrs. Mary A. Leltz of this city, a sister; six children, George Henkel, Henry A.Henkel, I.eo F. Henkel. all of this city, Mrs. Fred Kilp of Fon du Lac, and the Misses Jennie C. Henkel and Veronica K.
Henkel, both of Oshkosh; also twenty grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.
The funeral will be held from St. Mary's Catholic church Wednesday morning at 9 o'clock. Friends are requested to omit flowers.
