Obituary in The Chattanooga Times, Nov 18, 1979: "KAYLOR - Walter, age 52, of Birmingham, Ala., a former resident of Soddy, died in a Birmingham hospital Friday night. He was a son of the late Claude and Mary Schumaker [sic] Kaylor, a pioneer family of Soddy. Survivors are his wife, Mrs. Thelma Kaylor, Birmingham; two brothers, J. C. Kaylor Jr. and Herman Kaylor, both of Daisy; three sisters, Mrs. Helen Gooden, Soddy, Mrs. Jane Hill, Daisy, and Miss Charlotte Kaylor, Dayton, Ohio; two step-sons, Tommy and Rufus Dudley; aunts, uncles, nieces and nephews...."
