James Toole was a Revolutionary Soldier of Virginia and moved to GA about 1787. He operated a store on Broad Street in Augusta. He was the father of 3 known children, Jas S. Toole (1790), Harriet N. Toole (c1795) and George W. Toole (1800). He was a Commissioner for Augusta in 1791 and an incorporator of the Roman Catholic Society in Augusta in 1811.
