Ben was 83 years of age when he passed at the home of his daughter, Mrs. Richard (Jimmie) Punko, in Monroe. He was born in Marshall, N.C. He married Betty Lou Vaughn in Flat Lick, KY and she preceded him in death in 1954. He was employed by the Monroe Steel Castings Co., retiring in 1958. Surviving are 4 daughters, 4 brothers, 2 sisters, 28 grandchildren, 34 great-grandchildren and 5 great great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by two sons.
