He married Julia Kelley on 12/22/1880. He was Postmaster from 1892 until 1896. He co-owned McChesney's General Store. He was the first Village Fire Marshall. In 1905 he helped organize the Glen Ellyn State Bank and served as Village President from 1905 until 1909.
