in U.S. Dead Here at 98


Funeral services for Rev. B. W. Lammers, oldest minister of the Reformed Church of America, who died at his home, 2039 Huizen SW, Thursday morning, will be held at 2:30 p.m. Saturday in the Jamestown Reformed Church. Burial will be in Jamestown Cemetery.

Rev. Lammers, who at 98, was also the oldest living graduate (1886) of Hope College.

Born in Cedar Grove, Wis., he lived in Jamestown from the time of his retirement in 1932 until 1957 when he moved to Grand Rapids.

He ministered in churches in Hull and Boyden, Iowa; Westfield, N.C.; Corsica, S.D.; Maple Lake and Roseland, Minn.; Sodus, N.Y., and Forest Grove, Mich.

He and his wife, Magdalene, celebrated their 55th wedding anniversary last May.

In addition to his wife, he is survivied by three daughters, Gertrude and Janet Lammers and Mrs. William F. Reus, all of Grand Rapids; three sons, Bernard of Watertown, S.D., Henry of Billings, Mont., and John of Jamestown, 10 grandchildren and 12 great-grandchildren.

The body is in the Yntema Funeral Home.
