Born in Akron, Basil was a Cuyahoga Falls resident over 40 years and a U.S. Army Vietnam veteran. He retired from Hamlin Newco in 2012 and enjoyed spending time fishing and Nascar racing. He is survived by his wife of 42 years, Janet; daughter, Wendy (Jack) Stull; son, Troy (Erin) Busch; grandchildren, Dallas and Olivia Stull; and sister, Shirley Nunn.
