James Harold Earwood, 69, of Memphis, retired from the Shelby County Sheriff's Department, died of heart failure Friday at his home. Services will be at 11 a.m. Tuesday at Roller Family Funeral Home in Memphis with burial in Memorial Park. He was a retired Senior Master Sergeant in the Air Force and a Baptist. Mr. Earwood, the husband of Melba Earwood, also leaves three sons, James H. Earwood Jr. and James A. Earwood, both of Memphis, and John G. Earwood of Moscow, Tenn; a sister Ruth Hargett of Southaven, and three grandchildren. The family requests that all memorials be sent to Methodist Hospice.
