Steven was the oldest of two sons born to S. T. Wesley and Clara Lee (Kivett) Evans. He married Linda Phillips Fetzer in 1980.

Mr. Steven Taylor Evans, age 60, of Albemarle, passed away on February 8, 2015 at Duke University Medical Center after two months of progressive illness.
Born in Alamance County, he was the son of the late S.T. Evans and Mrs. Clara Kivett Evans, who survives. He was married for 35 years to Mrs. Linda Phillips Evans, who survives. Steven earned a Bachelor's Degree from North Carolina State University and retired from the USDA Natural Resource Conservation Service after 33 years of service. He was a member of Main St. United Methodist Church in Albemarle.
Mr. Evans is survived by his wife of the home; a stepson, Tom Fetzer and his wife, Donna, of High Point; two grandchildren, Natalie Fetzer and Ryan Fetzer; his mother of Burlington; and a brother, Tony Evans of Efland.
The funeral service will be conducted at 1:00 PM Thursday, February 12, 2015 at Lowe Funeral Home Chapel by Pastor Mark Clark. Interment will follow at Alamance Memorial Park. The family will receive friends from 11:00 – 12:45 Thursday prior to the service at the funeral home.
