Memorial services for Viola Modelle Brookshire, 94, of Chandler will be held on Sunday, August 9, 2015 at 1:30 PM at Stewart Family Funeral Home.
Mrs. Brookshire died peacefully on Tuesday, August 4, 2015 in Tyler.
She was born June 29, 1921 in Loraine to Jim and Myrtle Rone Lee and has been in the Chandler/Brownsboro area for the past 40 years.
Modelle was a member of Rice Road Church of Christ in Tyler. She enjoyed spending time with her family, working crosswords and watching Rangers baseball.
In addition to her parents, Mrs. Brookshire was preceded in death by her husband, L. D. Brookshire; six sisters, Gertha Davidson, Lynette Slaughter, Ina Bess Compton, Ruth Turnbow, Mary Edna Lee, and Helen Irene Lee; two brothers, Olan Lee and James Aldin Lee.
She is survived by her sons, Donny Brookshire and wife Patsy Ruth of Midland and Billy Brookshire and wife Glenda of Merit; daughter, Kay Rumbo of Chandler; brothers, Raymond Lee and wife Jane of Fairview, Oklahoma. And Elvis Lee and wife Suzanne of Lakeville, Indiana; eleven grandchildren; thirty great-grandchildren and sixteen great-great-grandchildren.
