Goldie Viola (Lamar) Lape was born in Georgetown, Illinios, to William Bert LAMAR and Florence (Sykes) LAMAR . She was married in 1927 to William E. Lape . They resided in Hammond, Indiana, and later in rural Attica, Indiana.

Goldie was a wonderful cook and a hard worker. She always tended a large garden and had a cellar full of canned vegetables. During the depression, to raise money, she tended apple trees, Christmas trees and had an earthworm farm. She was known to work rings around most men.

Goldie was an avid animal lover. She adopted many pets that were strays or abandoned by their owners. It was not surprising, to arrive at their residence, in rural Attica, and find a goat, peacock or rabbit being nursed by her.

Goldie died on December 16, 1967, from stroke complications.

Siblings: Mary Belle Lamar, John H. LAMAR, Rachael (Lamar) Isbell, Oren Lamar, Mae Lamar. Daughther: Birtie M. (Lape) Hanover . Grandchildren: George W. Hanover , Debra L. (Hanover) Bladt-Shelby, Iowa, Gregory A. Hanover, Attica, Indiana. Step-Grandchildren: Sandra K. (Hanover) Barret, Westville, Illinois, and Shiela F. (Hanover) Drais, Fern Park, Florida.
