Belvia "Rhea" Beck


Belvia "Rhea Beck, 91, of Galt died Jan. 6, 1997, of Galt at a local convalescent hospital. She was born Belvia Womack on June 1, 1905 in Oklahoma.


Mrs. Beck was a resident of the area for 25 years. She lived in Richmond for 30 years prior to moving to Galt. She worked at Richmond Shipyards during the World War 11 and then at the Felecia Perelli Cannery in Richmond for 25 years.


She was a homemaker and enjoyed oil painting, taking lessons from the Norman Rockwell School. She also enjoyed puzzels.


Mrs. Beck was preceded in death by her husband, Lester Beck; a son, Johnnie L. Beck; and two sisters, Rose Elmore and Ella Goodman.


Mrs. Beck is survived by a daughter, Rosella Beck Acosta of Galt; three brothers, Boyd Womack of Hickman, Lloyd Womack of Denair and Eddie Womack of Oklahoma.


Services will not be held. Committal is 11 a.m. Friday at Rolling Hills Memorial Park in Richmond. Visatation is 10 a.m. to 8 p.m. Wednesday and Thursday at Ben Salas Funeral Home in Galt.
