Upon arriving in Clay County, Missouri Edmund and his brother Laban were tailors by trade and purchased a business together.

Edmund marries again a woman names Rosa. In about 1888 they move to Joplin, Jasper County, Missouri. Edmund's two daughters are living in Joplin as well. Edmund resides here until his death in 1902.
