Mrs. Sarah Cartledge Dies Suddenly While Visiting in Kilmichael
Mrs. Sarah O. Cartledge, age 70, died suddenly at the home of her son, C. E. Cartledge, in Kilmichael on July 23. Mrs. Cartledge made her home with her daughter, Mrs. J. D. Body of Tunica, Miss. She was visiting her and other relatives in and around Kilmichael. On Sunday before her death Monday, Mrs. Cartledge attended church in Kilmichael. She was a life-long member of the Presbyterian Church, she was only ill for a few hours and her death was a shock to her relatives and friends.
Funeral services were conducted July 24 at the Poplar Creek Presbyterian church with the Rev. J. C. Stewart of French Camp, conducting the last rites for this good Christian woman. Interment was made in the Poplar Creek cemetery. Winona Undertaking Company was in charge of funeral arrangements
Mrs. Cartledge is survived by two daughters, Mrs. W. G. Boyd of French Camp, and Mrs. J. D. Boyd of Tunica, three sons, C. D. Cartledge of French Camp, S. M. Cartledge of Okolona and C. E. Cartledge of Kilmichael and two sisters, Mrs. W. J. Cartledge of Cleveland and Mrs. R. A. Downing of French Camp.
