Carmen Drexel Vickers, 88 of Titusville passed away on Wednesday, May 13, 2015 while surrounded by his loving family.

Born on May 21, 1927 to the late Charles and Jewell Vickers in Logan County, WV, Carmen served our nation with great honor with the U.S Navy and was honorable discharged in 1946 Following his service, Carmen became a Welterweight boxer and rose to be the 17th ranked boxer in the world and continued his love of boxing by training friends of his sons and nephew in the Golden Gloves program. He moved to the Titusville area in 1958 and began his Ironworking career with Local 808 out of Orlando. Early projects included installing the doors on the VAB building and many other projects at the “Cape” with NASA, Disney’s Magic Kingdom and EPCOT.

Other than his parents, Carmen is preceded in death by his beloved wife Ethel and son David.

He will be greatly missed by his wife Dianne Miller Vickers; son Gary (Connie) Vickers of Dundee, FL; daughter Debi (Cliff) Harbin of Mt. Dora and grandsons Gary Vickers Jr and Joel Vickers.

Funeral Services will be held on Wednesday, May 20, 2015 at 11AM at North Brevard Funeral Home with Pastor Jerry Hanson officiating.
