Hannah Ann Penney was born on September 17, 1824, in Wells, Maine, the child of Tobias and Hannah. She married Aaron Marshall Irish on November 8, 1844, in her hometown. They had six children in 22 years. She died on October 12, 1908, in West Paris, Maine, having lived a long life of 84 years, and was buried there.
