Dies At Age Of 74
A resident of the Auburn community nearly all of her lifetime, Mrs. Elzina Mae Miller, age 74, died at the home of a daughter, Mrs. Glen Campbell of Rt. 2, Fremont, at 5 a.m. Saturday. Mrs. Campbell had suffered a stroke of paralysis at her daughter's home at 4 p.m. Friday. She had been in good health until the stroke.
Mrs. Miller was born in DeKalb county on March 16, 1878 and was married to Clyde L. Miller on July 23, 1897. He is now deceased. She lived south of Auburn for many years.
Surviving besides the daughter are six other children, Mrs. Marie Smith of Richmond, Ind., Paul M. Miller of Pleasant Lake, Carl L. Miller of Lansing, Mich., Mrs. George James of Hamilton, Mrs. Monald Weicker of Woodburn and Don Miller of Kalamazoo, Mich.; 15 grandchildren; 19 great-grandchildren and a brother, Orange B. Carnahan of Rt. 2, Auburn.
The body was removed to the Gerig funeral home in Auburn for burial preparations and will remain there until noon Monday when it will be taken to the Cedar Chapel church, of which she was a member. It will lie in state until the hour of the funeral services which will be conducted at 2 p.m. Monday. The Rev. Opal Pence, pastor of the Auburn Church of the Brethren, will officiate at the services and burial will be in the Cedar Chapel cemetery.
