ALLEN
MOCKSVILLE – John Robert Allen, 79, died Sunday, April 24, 2022, at his home.
He was born October 28, 1942, in Iredell County, to the late Robert Groce Allen and Edna Lucille Bowles Allen. John retired from Ingersoll-Rand as the shipping and receiving supervisor. He had also been a dairy farmer. John was a member of Hardison Methodist Church. He loved wood working, working on model trains, cars and trucks,
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his first wife, Mary Juarell Allen; and his second wife, Kay Feimster Allen.
Survivors include a daughter, Robin A. Durham (Todd); a sister, Susie Wilson (Larry); two grandchildren, Jenna and Brandon Durham; and a great-granddaughter, Zoey Lipscomb-Durham.
A graveside service will be conducted at 2 p.m., Saturday, April 30, at Hardison Methodist Church Cemetery, with Rev. Wesley Sink officiating. The family will receive friends from 12 to 1:30 p.m., Saturday, at Lambert Funeral Home. The service will be available to view on the funeral home website.
