at 9:30 am, Monday, September 2, 2002, the Angel of Silence came to Arthur Marshall, Jr. and with chilly fingers sealed the lips of our beloved. His soul winged its flight from this world of sin, sorrow and pain to a place of eternal rest. Arthur Marshall, Jr. was born October 8, 1940 in St. Joseph, Louisiana to Arthur Marshall, Sr. and Josephine Mitchell Marshall. He confessed Christ at an early age and united with the Mount Everett Baptist Church. As a young man he loved sports; he enjoyed playing basketball. His livelihood was cooking as a Chef in restaurants and hotels. He was united in matrimony and to this union three children were born. He is preceded in death by his father, Arthur Marshall, Sr.; mother, Josephine Mitchell Marshall; sisters Thelma Marshall and Helen Marshall; and brother John Marshall.

Survivors include two sons, a daughter, a brother, two sisters and five grandchildren. A funeral will be held Saturday at 10am at Evening Star Baptist Church, 8926 Hickory Street. Visitation will begin at 9am. Burial will be in Providence Memorial Park. Richardson Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
