He was a member of Ingleside Baptist Church and served in the US Navy during the Korean War. He had worked at Lyman Printing and Finishing and at Bommer Industries.
In addition to his wife, he is survived by two sons, Charles Brian Alexander of Spartanburg and Nelson Jerome Alexander of Landrum; a sister, Doris Smith of Liberty, SC; four grandchildren, Leigh Johnston, Mark Alexander, Wesley Alexander and Landon Alexander; and a great granddaughter, Daphne Johnston.
