Robert Ray Reedy Sr., 88, of Broadway, Virginia, died April 21, 2015, at Sentara RMH Medical Center in Harrisonburg. He was born November 3, 1926, in New Market, VA, and was a son of the late John Franklin and Mae V. Good Reedy.

He worked for H.D. Lee Co. for 23 years before retiring. He also had worked for Nelson Alger for a number of years and Kennametal for 10 years. He was a U.S. Army veteran of WWII.

On May 8, 1948, he married the former Anna Blosser, who survives.

Also surviving are four sons, Robert R. Reedy Jr. and wife, Kathy, and Carie L. Reedy and wife, Corinne, all of Broadway, Claude F. Reedy and wife, Jeanne, of Doe Hill, Va., and William T. Reedy of Fayetteville, N.C.; one daughter, Susan R. Moreno and husband, Marvin, of Broadway; two brothers, Stanley Reedy of Greenville, S.C., and David Reedy of Mount Crawford, Va.; five sisters, Elizabeth Crum of Staunton, Gladys Polk of Harrisonburg, Sylvia Via of Bridgewater, Mary Delawder of Broadway and Louise Gentry of Melford, Del.; 12 grandchildren and six great-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by brothers, John, James and Claude Reedy; and a sister, Anna Lee Tusing.

Bobby Sylvia and Clinton Goff will conduct a funeral service 11 a.m. Friday at the Grandle Funeral Home Chapel in Broadway. Burial at Eastlawn Memorial Gardens will be private.

The family will receive friends prior to the service at 10 a.m. Friday at Grandle Funeral Home.

Memorial contributions may be made to Broadway Rescue Squad, P.O. Box 666, Broadway, VA 22815, or Broadway Volunteer Fire Department, P.O. Box 271, Broadway, VA 22815.
