He attended school in the old Lincoln school.
His parents being Lutherans, he was baptized as an infant in the Lutheran church, later joining the Presbyterian church with his parents. When his children were baptized into the Christian church at Highland. Brother Jordan was baptized with them and has remained a loyal faithful Christian.
He was united in marriage to Miss. Dora Clementine Heavener, Marion Co,Iowa, May 30, 1893. Two children came to bless there home. Dee Albert and Mrs. Henrietta Goad. When Henrietta was only four and one-half years of age , there mother was taken from them. Nov. 17, 1909. From that time , Mr. Jordan was both mother and father to the children.
He was an energetic hard working farmer. Even in his later years he was a hard worker. He did much toward advancing agriculture and live stock improvement in the country. He will be missed by his many friends in the neighborhood.
He leaves to mourn his passing , nine brothers and sisters, and one grandchild; besides his own children. Mrs. Christina Bittenbender, of Knoxville: George of Swan; Mrs. Anna Clark, Dallas; Henry August of Wyoming; Mrs. Emma Clark of Pleasantville; Charles of Knoxville; Mrs. Ralph Kelly, Knoxville; and Louis T. Fairview community, Knoxville: and his grandson Donald Eugene Goad.
Four members of the family were deceased.
Funeral services will be held at 2 p. m., Friday at the Eden M. F. church, west of town. Interments in Lincoln cemetery. Rev. A. Bern Cleveland officiating.
