Derrick Darrell “D” Adams, 29, formerly of Cades, died Sunday, February 1, 2015, at the Grand Strand Regional Medical Center of Myrtle Beach, due to injuries sustained in an auto accident. Funeral services, conducted by the Rev. Franklin Fulmore, Sr. and the Rev. Herbert F. Godwin, were held Saturday, February 7, 2015, at St. Paul AME Church of Cades. Burial, directed by Redmond-Richardson Funeral Home, followed at Poston Cemetery of Cades. Mr. Adams was born April 26, 1985, in Florence, the son of Deloris Michelle Adams and the late Montaque Barrino McClary. He received his formal education in the public schools of Williamsburg County. He was a member of St. Paul AME Church.

Survivors, in addition to his mother of Cades, are: one son, Zi’Yon Gilliard of Hemingway; his maternal grandmother, Ruthie Lee Adams of Cades; three brothers, Barrino McClary of Kingstree; Donte’ Williams of Akron, Ohio; and Brandon Oliver of Greensboro, North Carolina; and three sisters, Moneika Thomas of Washington, DC; Abla Pearson (Herbie) of Kingstree; and Keyona Franklin of Charlotte, North Carolina.
