Passed peacefully away at St. Clare's Mercy Hospital, age 86 years. Predeceased by 1st wife Lillian; and son John. Leaving to mourn wife, Maimie; children: Maxine Bursey (Derick), Reg (Bridget), Bob (Connie), Nancey Cooper (Harold), Judy Ludlow, and David (Dawne); step daughter, June Johnson (Graham); 20 grandchildren; 14 great grandchildren; brother, Gus; sister, Dorothy Collins; sisters -in-law: June, Alma, Ina, and Una; as well as a large circle of other relatives and friends. Visitation is being held at Barrett's Funeral Home, 328 Hamilton Ave., on Wednesday, Jan.19, 2005 from 7pm-9pm, Thursday, Jan. 20, 2005 from 10am-12pm, 2pm-4pm and 7pm-9pm, and on Friday, Jan. 21, 2005 from 10am-12noon. Funeral Service to take place on Friday at 2pm from Elim Tabernacle Pentecostal Church. Interment to follow at Mount Pleasant Cemetery. As expressions of sympathy flowers are gratefully accepted or donations may be made in his memory to the Alzheimer's Society or to Newfoundland Cancer Foundation.
