John D. Mack, 62, of West Deer Township, passed away Thursday, April 9, 2015. Born April 10, 1952, in Penn Hills, he was the son of the late Seigel B. and Ruth (Buente) Mack. He was a graduate of the University of Pittsburgh with a master's in civil and environmental engineering. He married his beloved wife, Cheryl (Asay) Mack at Heinz Chapel in 1980. John was the owner of Computer Literates, which he opened in 1994 in Richland Township. He was a member of the Western Pennsylvania Professional Business Association, a local networking group. He belonged to Northway Christian Community Church, formerly belonging to First Presbyterian Church of Bakerstown. John loved antique Ford trucks and had restored several. He could be seen driving them around town and they were often parked in front of Computer Literates. He had been a Boy Scout Leader for Troop 150. Through projects started with the Troop, he helped to record local history and photos from Richland Township and its residents. He also was a proud supporter of all who served in the military. John was a loving husband, proud father and caring friend, who will be missed by many. He is survived by his beloved wife, Cheryl (Asay) Mack and son, Ryan S. Mack, both of West Deer Township. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his son, Sean R. Mack, who passed away April 28, 2005. John's family will welcome friends from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. Tuesday, April 14, 2015, at KING FUNERAL HOME and CREMATION SERVICES INC., 2841 Woodland Circle in Allison Park. A funeral service will be held at 11 a.m. Wednesday, April 15, 2015, at the King Funeral Home, with Deacon Francis Dadowski Jr. officiating. He will be laid to rest at the Allegheny Cemetery in Pittsburgh. If desired, memorial donations may be made in his honor in support of Boy Scout Troop 150.
