Entered the service from Texas. Lived in the Sand Community west of Lamesa in Dawson County.
The 382nd Infantry fought in Battle of Leyte in the Philippines in 1944 October - December.
The Deadeye unit fought in the Battle of Hacksaw Ridge on the Shuri Line in Okinawa which lasted for 82 Days.
