John L. Alder, 89, Elizabeth Drive, died at 6:50 p.m. Thursday, July 22, 2010, at the Pembroke Nursing and Rehabilitation Center of natural causes. Services will be at 11 a.m. Monday at Lamb Funeral Home with the Rev. Jerry Stewart officiating. Burial will be in Green Hill Memorial Gardens. Visitation will be from 4 until 6 p.m. Sunday at the funeral home. A native of Christian County, he was born Nov. 11, 1920, the son of the late John Harrison and Bertha Pringle Alder. He was retired following 42 years of work in Civil Service as an electrician in electronic communication at Fort Campbell. He was a World War II Army veteran and was a member of the Veterans of Foreign Wars. He was a member of the New Barren Springs Baptist Church. Survivors include his wife, Betty Dunn Alder, and a son, Larry Alder, Hopkinsville.
