Obituary of Pauline McElveen Branch

Pauline McElveen Branch was born on September 24, 1928 in Florence, SC. She was the daughter of Moses and Mary Sims McElveen. Pauline transitioned into eternal rest at McLeod Hospice House in Florence, SC, on March 29, 2015.

Pauline attended Wilson High School. After high school she moved to New York City. She worked as a Nurse at Downstate Medical Center in Brooklyn, NY, until retirement.

After retirement, she returned to Florence, SC, and became an active member of Savannah Grove Baptist Church under the pastorship of Dr. Ralph W. Canty, Sr. Pauline served as an usher during church services until physical ailments prevented her from performing those duties. She continued to remain an active member of the church and always enjoyed the service and the Lord, whom she loved with all her heart.

Pauline was preceded in death by her husband, Mr. Ernest Branch, and her son, Robert T. McElveen. She leaves to cherish her memory: two sons, James Tyler of Elgin, SC, and William McElveen of Connecticut; one daughter, Chandra Paulette Branch of Brooklyn, NY; five grandchildren, Malcolm McElveen of Charlotte, NC, Saeed and Najee Tyler of Queens, NY, Latisha Coles Hatchell of Charlotte, NC, and Johnathan Woodley of Suffolk, VA; ten great grandchildren; one sister, Louise Young of Bronx, NY; three daughters-in-law, Yvette Tyler, Diane Wilson and Sharon Mitchel; and a host of cousins, nieces, nephews, in-laws and friends.
