Thurman Farrel Cottrill, Jr., 71, of Ponderosa Drive, Barco, NC., died Sunday May 28, 2006 at the Sentara Norfolk General Hospital. Mr. Cottrill was born June 16, 1934 in Mount Clare, Harrison County, West Virginia, and was the son of the late Thurman Farrell Cottrill, Sr, and Tressie Arlena Williams Cottrill/Winemiller. He was a retired painter and a security officer with Go Dare Security, Martins Point, veteran of the U. S. Army, member of Moyock Assembly God, Gideons International, and the Coinjock American Legion Post # 288. Survivors include his wife; Luella J. Welch Cottrill, daughters; Christine Prine and her husband Fred of Elizabeth City, NC., Tressie Ganas and her husband Bruce of South Mills, NC and Charlotte Lee and her husband Brett of Harbinger, NC., a son Glenn Cottrill and his wife Debra of Virginia Beach, VA., sisters Lois Dye of Lost Creek, WV., and Thurmetta Lou "Blue" Cottrill Dye of Mount Clare, WV., a brother Douglas Dwight Cottrill, Sr of Clarksburg, WV., and sixteen grandchildren. He was preceded in death by one son Gordon D Cottrill, one brother Dewayne Edward Cottrill,and one sister Marion Lucille Cottrill . A funeral service will be held Wednesday at 4:00 P. M. at the Moyock Assembly of God Church with Pastor Daniel S. Pollard, Sr., officiating. A graveside service will be held Saturday June 3, at 1:00 P. M. at the Wolfe Cemetery in Mount Clare, WV. The family will receive friends following the funeral service in the church fellowship hall. In lieu of flowers the family suggests that memorial contributions be made to: Moyock Assembly of God Church, 100 Ranchland Drive, Moyock, NC 27958 or Gideons International, P. O.
