Hall of Fame Professional Hockey Player. For fourteen seasons (1940 to 1954), he played at the center position in the National Hockey League with the Montreal Canadiens. During the course of his career, he formed along with Toe Blake and Maurice "Rocket" Richard one of hockey's greatest offensive threats. He was a contributor to three Stanley Cup titles (1944, 1946 and 1953). Individually, Lach distinguished himself as the recipient of the Hart Memorial Trophy in 1945 and the Art Ross Trophy in 1948. In 664 career regular season games, he compiled 215 goals with 408 assists. After retiring as a player, he briefly served as a minor league coach. He later became a businessman. He was inducted into the Hockey Hall of Fame in 1966.
