Measles joined our family eight days after our American Eskimo, Bear was put to rest. She was a purebred dalmatian and was full of energy. Measles had much more energy then I did. We went to obedience training seven times. She was always getting into something. She stayed a puppy until the day she turned seven. Constantly on the go. When she was one year old, she experienced her one and only false pregnancy. I've never witnessed anything like it. She would gather a handful of toys and nudge them to nurse. If a toy was missing, she would go into panic mode until it was located. She would whimper and try to talk to the toys. We did not want her to go through that again. She was spayed before her next cycle. We walked her every single day of her life....snow or rain never stopped us. She looked forward to it. And no matter how tired I was, I would grab the leash and go. And it would always perk me up and hopefully wind her down. Measles was a crowd pleaser. Kids would come out of nowhere to greet her. I happily remember one Halloween, the doorbell rings, as I look at the cutely dressed kids, they peer around me with big eyes and one calls out to the other kids "this is where Measles lives!", "Measles lives here!". The kids didn't know us but they knew her. What a sweet girl.

She lived 10 years 2 months 5 days
