Andrew "Ander" Clyde Wood, age 67, passed away on April 20, 2011 at Doctor's Memorial Hospital in Perry, Fl.
Mr. Wood was a native and lifelong resident of Salem, growing up at Bird Island and was a member of Salem Missionary Baptist Church. Mr. Wood owned and operated Wood"?s Grocery store in Salem for many years.
He also served 8 years as a County Commissioner for Taylor County, where he also served as chairman. Mr. Wood also worked at Buckeye for several years and had currently been employed with the Dept. of Corrections for past 16 yrs. Mr. Wood was a family man who enjoyed farming, being around animals, animal auctions, and had a green thumb and could grow anything.
