Funeral services will be conducted at 1:30 p.m. (Standard time) tomorrow for J. Newton Clements, who died at his home Thursday night after an illness of several months. The house in which he died was one in which he had spent almost all eighty-six years of his life, and was erected on the site formerly occupied by the house in which he was born. He had been actively engaged in farming until about ten years ago, when supervison of his farm was taken over by his son, David H. Clements, an official of the Sullivan County Farm Bureau and the Liberty Grange.

Mr. Clements was born Mary 31, 1851, a son of John A. and Paulina Hill Clements. Survivors in addition to his son, David, are the widow, Mrs. Flora Parsons Clements, and four daughters who are Miss Mabel E. Clements, at the home; Miss Laura E. Clements, a teacher on Long Island; Mrs. Frederick J. Haller and Mrs. William P. Haller, both of Hollis, L.I.

The Rev. Ward Gypson of the Presbyterian Church, of which the deceased was a member will conduct the service at the home. Interment will be in the family plot in Liberty Cemetery.
